Upon arrival in Sri Lanka and our first night in Colombo at the Cinnamon Red I realized that I had brought the wrong power adapter with me. I went to the front desk to ask for a loaner, promising that I’d return it the next morning at check-out.
“Keep it”, the friendly staff member said with a smile.
And with that, a single, kind gesture set the tone for our entire trip.
Of course, our Standard King room was clean and modern.
And the restaurant food was excellent. Pro tip for breakfast: ask the chef for a plain omelette and then put your favourite topping on it from the curry station.
The lunch menu, though not a buffet, was pretty fantastic as well.
But honestly, wherever I was on the island, as soon as it came time to charge my phone or camera I immediately thought of Cinnamon Red. I was able to return the charger en route to the airport, but I won’t soon forget the gesture. If such a small thing could make such a big impact how can I not recommend this excellent hotel and its thoughtful staff?
